Emory graduated from UMass Amherst’s Commonwealth Honors College in spring of 2021 with a BS in public health sciences. While the foundation of his studies centered around global health and health equity, Emory has always had an interest and infectious disease, especially viruses. Emory is part of the Lemieux Lab virology team which is currently investigating the impact of mutations in the SARS-CoV2 spike glycoprotein. He is also part of a new lab effort to begin developing novel assays for Powassan Virus, a tick-borne pathogen.
