Hailing from Nepal, Dibya went to her neighboring country, India to receive her Ph.D. in Biotechnology from South Asian University. Her Ph.D. work highlighted the subtype-specific antiretroviral drug resistance in HIV-1. After her Ph.D., She decided to discover other areas in virology and moved to Texas and worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in UTHCT, Tyler to study SARS-CoV-2. In 2022, she joined Lemieux lab and is working on a reverse genetics approach to study SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses. She is also interested in exploring the immune responses in people due to COVID-19 vaccination and infection.
