Benjamin Kotzen

Picture

Benjamin joined the lab in 2022 as a Data Analyst and has worked on projects to understand the SARS-CoV-2 genome so that we can predict which variants of the coronavirus will become prevalent and severe. To do this, he has collaborated with the Sabeti Lab at the Broad Institute to take clinical data of patients who have had covid and combine that with genomic data of covid samples from those patients. He also has worked closely on a python-based probabilistic model colloquially known as PyR0 (github codebase here).

Outside of the lab, Benjamin is a musician, a surfer, and he loves to cook.
